Our self produced debut album full
of “intelligent arrangements.. (and) clever vocal interplay...
(which) given a
sunny summers day will fit the bill nicely” (**** Q magazine)
was declared a “Comedown classic” by Hartlepool
Mail, while ATTITUDE thought it was the “voices that touch
every emotional base and songs their peers would
kill for” that really shone. Fellas, fellas, you’re
ALL right. It’s a harmony laden tune fest from the “Gobby,
Northern Simon & Garfunkel for the New Millenium” (Freakzine)
The title track got turned into a TV ident for CHANNEL 5 & “World
still turns” is going to be in a film in 2005.
We couldn’t afford to do a
single really but those lovely people at BBC Radio 2 playlisted
this so we thought
it only polite to actually release it. We got to tour the country
playing regional radio stations it was great,
although getting the poor thing into actual shops proved a right
mare. We got to make a video too though
which you can see on the FREE MUSIC page. Also, the b sides are
really top tunes.

memory of first time buyers)
“WINTERCOAT” was playlisted by BBC 6 MUSIC despite not
being a “proper” single. Go on them. & us.
& you. “BREATH OF BELLS” was sent to Canadian genius
JANE SIBERRY by some very kind MOSES fans
in answer to a request on her website for CHRISTMAS songs she could
cover, she sent us this reply:
“Thank you for your song which several people have recommended
to me. It is very wonderful! I love the
arrangement. I was actual looking for traditional songs for this
project but this sounds like an original, if so
you are quite the musicians. It is very beautiful, I look forward
to hearing more from MOSES in the future”
JANE SIBERRY said that! About us! If you loved her as much as us
you’d understand why this is ace...
Featuring the much requested
BBC 6 Music session of The Smiths “Shakespeare’s Sister”
& the first
ever lead vocal by the sultry Ms Sophie Traves, “Django”
was only intended as a stop gap because
we where too busy touring to get on with recording album no 2, BUT
thanks to the likes of BBC Radio
Newcastle & Spyda radio’s excellent Country Show “The
Comfort Zone” playing tracks it’s proven
as popular as “Swimming Zoo” & we’ve ended
up repressing this 3 times so far..

The second MOSES album
includes the song “Swimming Zoo part 2” a sequel to
the debut album’s title
track, but the story doesn’t end there. There are many songs
about this made up place in Paul’s head
because he is mental. These are all home recordings, lo-fi stuff
and a bit odder than our usual thing, and
over the coming year they will build up to a whole other album based
around the themes of finding your
tribe & diving in. You can down load them from the FREE MUSIC
PAGE & do with them as you will.
& yes, album number 3 WILL include “The Swimming Zoo part
3”.
